5 Quick & Natural Fixes For Sunburn

A SUNBURN is a form of Radiation burn that results from an overexposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiations. It generally affects Skin Types I-III or people who are very fair. It can be easily protected by the use of sunscreen.

There are certain things to consider when using a sunscreen like:
Always use a physical sunscreen,
Reapply every 2-3 hours and
Always use physical protection as sunscreen does not prevent tanning.

Apart from sunscreen, there are many easy and natural quick fix for Sunburn.
Here, I present you 5 quick fixes for Sunburn:

1. Ice It Down: Try to cool the sunburn area with ice wrapped in a cloth as much as possible. The ice will help to reduce inflammation by constricting(narrowing) of the blood vessels. Thus, the redness decreases and so does the burning and pain sensation.

2. Aloe Vera: Aloe Vera has excellent cooling and healing properties. So just grab a fresh aloe leaf or aloe vera gel and rub on the sunburn area for instant effects.

3. Tea Bags: Another benefit of being a tea lover. Place a Tea bag (preferably black but green or white tea bag will also work) on the affected area. The tannins from the tea will help to reduce inflammation and provides relief.

4. Oatmeal: Its a grain with too many benefits. Soak oats in cold water preferably overnight. Apply the paste on the affected area. It acts as moisturizer protecting the skin barrier. It also has additional antibacterial and skin healing properties.

5.Yoghurt, Turmeric & HoneyA mixture of Yoghurt, Turmeric & Honey act as an excellent treatment for Sunburn. It helps in protecting the normal lipid barrier of the skin, thus moisturizing the skin. It also has antibacterial properties and provides a cooling sensation.
